In September 2012, Global Poverty Project hosted the inaugural Global Citizen Festival in NYC. It featured John Legend, the Foo Fighters and some of the biggest names in music. With my friends and contacts in the NZ music industry ,I worked to put on a Kiwi version of the global call to action in the Auckland Town Hall in 2013. Anika Moa, Tiki Taane, Auckland Gospel Choir, Louis Baker, Jamie McDell and other wonderful musicians all performed in a spectacular show. It was a beautiful open hearted moment when music and the message fused, and inspired New Zealanders to step up for a more fair and peaceful planet. I coordinated all the tv coverage for the event, that featured in different shows on all channels, as well as in newspapers and magazines.
